Case Study
Man at Arms
Logo Design
Intro
Man at Arms is a content creator who mainly streams on Twitch, the live streaming platform. He plays a wide range of video games for his viewers to enjoy.
The Brief
Man at Arms came to me whilst I was working in the gaming world and asked for a rebrand of his existing logo and brand identity. He knew that he wanted to feature a cartoon style skull throughout he branding and a nice yellow colour. The yellow needed to be punchy enough but not too bright and in your face. There wasn’t much to go on with regards to existing branding so I started from scratch.
The Challenge
The brief challenged me to design a skull illustration that did not look to life like or too cartoony. I had to find a happy medium between the two. This also had to work well as a logo design but also for social platforms such as Twitter and Twitch. Introducing the yellow colour would be fine and it would give a nice contrast between the white and black of the skull illustration.
Branding for Man at Arms
The Man at Arms project took advantage of my Standard Branding Package. This included a few sketched concepts, development of the chosen design route and a one page style guide. I included a couple of pattern designs just because the skull logo really leant itself well to being a brand pattern.
Brand Badge Design
I’ve really enjoyed creating additional logo lockups and this includes badge designs. These badges can be easily turned into stickers to hand out to customers or clients. I’ll certainly be adding more of these badge options to future projects.
The Results
Man at Arms was really impressed with the outcome of their rebranding project. I certainly had a lot of fun creating the new branding. Especially as it included a cute looking skull mascot which can now be used throughout their content and streams.
